Steps on Compromised Email Account Recovery

The steps to recover your email ACCOUNT.

1. Change the email account's password.

At least 8 alphanumeric characters with a mix of capital letters, numbers and symbols.
Should not be equivalent to the email username.
Do not use previous password.
Do not use similar password among email accounts.

2. Identify all the computers which have been used to log into this email account, and perform a malware scanning using an ANTI MALWARE software with the latest signature updates.

3. Update control panel main account's password to have a strong password.

Kindly also ensure to avoid the scenario below to prevent the occurrence:

1. Do not login to the email account via public network or devices

2. Do not leave your device unattended

3. If the user have store the login credential in the device, please ensure to scan the device with antivirus from time to time. As some malware / virus are capable of leaking the login details to third party.

4. Make sure the password is at least 12 characters with combination of upper case letter, lower case letter number and symbol.

5. Do not use back the password that has been used previously

6. If received any threatening email that request for login to prevent account from terminate or release pending email, those are likely to be phishing email. In case any of the user have received it, you may request them to retrieve the full email header and forward to us to review.
