What Is The Difference Between A Sub-Domain, Parked Domain And An Add-on Domain?

Subdomain

  • Assume your domain is domain.com.
  • You install E-Commerce and place it in the domain.com/shop/ directory.
  • You can make the directory commerce a sub-domain by adding it to your Control Panel as a sub-domain.
  • You can now access your E-Commerce via domain.com/shop OR shop.domain.com

Parked Domain

  • You own domains such as domain.com, domain.org, domain.biz, and domain.net.
  • Your website's domain is domain.com, and you want to add domain.org, domain.biz, and domain.net.
  • You want them to go to the same location. In other words, if someone enters domain.com, domain.org, domain.biz, or domain.net, they will be directed to the same page(s) on your website.
  • You must purchase an additional domain in order to have additional parked domains (s).

Add-On Domains

  • domain.com and addondomain.com are your two domains.
  • You want the two domains to be completely separate websites.
  • You must purchase the additional domain in order to have additional add-on domains (s).
